Flavia Gomes Aragao has been working for AB InBev for 20 years and she has travelled a lot thanks to this career. She started in Brazil, then moved to the Czech Republic where she lived for two years and she has been living with her family in Belgium until now. She has grown from working in the Sales back office area to being the Head of Global International Supply Chain. Flavia is a great example that if a woman gets an opportunity, she takes it and proves to be successful. She believes women need to be represented in order to be heard and she has promoted diversity in all the teams she has been working in.
Her speech at the 12th year of Equal Pay Day had its own subtitle: What I have learned on my journey. Flavia focused mainly on the topic of balancing professional growth with family life. She also shared her international story and her experiences with gender inequality.
She revealed, among other things:
- That she believes that professional and personal life go hand in hand.
- How her life period spent in Prague changed her future.
- Her first thoughts when she found out she will have a baby.
- How powerful is having the right mind-set.
- Why does she believe that empathy is the key to overcome any issue?
