After moving to England with one big suitcase and two hundred pounds to my name, I achieved my career dreams and got the long-desired position in management. My finance career looked great (on the outside and on my CV), but I started to feel empty and purposeless.
I lost passion for the work I used to love and was lacking energy to perform my daily duties. Work started to feel overwhelming. The lack of fulfilment in my day-to-day job, led to overspending my money on things and experiences I didn’t need to feel the empty space, lost zest for life and burnout.
Over the years, I learnt that success and building financially rewarding career doesn’t have to come with sacrificing our health, time with loved ones, money or anything else that matters to you.
What kind of CHANGE you would like to SEE & MAKE?
I see far too many talented, well qualified and capable women who are stressed, unfulfilled and underpaid at work. There is a different way.
The change I want to see and contribute to in this world is to redefine what success means and how it can be achieved. As an international career coach and career growth strategist I help women design and live balanced, rewarding, fulfilling and stress resilient careers.
What kind of CHALLENGES are the most imporant in 2023?
Engagement at workplace and improved work and life balance. Workplace stress is on the rise in Europe since COVID-19. According to EU-OSHA’s work survey, more than four out of ten workers (44%) say that their work stress has increased, as a result of the pandemic. Employees are exposed to inadequate work overload due to cost cutting or and face job insecurity as jobs are moved to other parts of the world.
We all can play a role in bringing the change. I believe people at all levels within the organisations can contribute to change by challenging the ways we work, changing our work style and finding ways how to further advance our career despite the market challenges.
What are the topics that are not publicly spoken, but it definitely should be?
Enabling better career opportunities and flexible conditions for working parents. The impact of maternity leave on remuneration. Sharing best practices to realize gender equality in the workplace for working parents. Organisational support and creating fertility friendly work environment for women and their partners facing fertility issues, baby loss or miscarriage.
What do YOU DO to be SEEN & HEARD?
I’m active on LinkedIn, say Yes to interesting projects aligned with my business vision and do my best to bring the real change at workplace through my leadership role.
What would your younger YOU should know?
It’s ok to fail and learn. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone and spend your time on what matters to you and the society.
