Véronique Goy Veenhuys is Founder of EQUAL-SALARY, the certification of equal compensation for women and men, established in 2010 as a nonprofit foundation.

The EQUAL-SALARY certification process has been developed in collaboration with the University of Geneva and its audits are now entrusted to recognized partners such as PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and SGS.

The EQUAL-SALARY certification has been financially supported by the Swiss Confederation and is recognized by the European Commission since 2010. Its methodology was used as a statistical analysis of salary policies by the Swiss Federal Court of High Justice.

Véronique Goy Veenhuys is a born entrepreneur and a social entrepreneur. She gets a kick out of developing ideas and setting them up as businesses. She holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Geneva. She launched EQUAL-SALARY after completing an EMBA program in 2005.

Amongst others, Véronique Goy Veenhuys had the honor to receive the WIN Inspiring Women Worldwide Award in 2015 for her contribution for equal pay and the advancement of women.

Privately, she is married to David, a Dutchman who has always fully supported her ideas and dreams. She has two children and three grandchildren. Véronique’s energy is kept alive thanks to Nature from which she is never far.

Topic:  Networking for a more balanced & happy life

For me, networking has been the key asset, a powerful tool for developing EQUAL-SALARY but also privately. Repeatedly I have noticed that some people are afraid of networking in a conscious way or do not value it as a resource or use it in a limited way. Also, because women are still mainly in charge of the family (it is the case in Switzerland), they don’t have or don’t take the time to network outside work, especially if active in the corporate world. Main thought for mentees:

I would like them to feel proud of who they are and braver.

What inspired me the most last year?:

I had time to take the time to slow down and start thinking how to be a better person.

Which woman i would like to meet:

I cannot think of anyone I wish to meet. Actually I have met the women that have and still inspire me … my mother’s mother and my mother-in-law. They have shown resilience after going through very difficult moments in their lives. They have been strong, courageous and kept a warm heart.

What would help to make women’s VOICE in society to be moreheard?

Through promoting trust and respect, equal pay gives women the confidence to speak up.
