(self-care and mindfulness for the purpose of self-growth and professional development)
Depression is a leading cause of disability, according to the World Health Organization. The organization also reported that the global prevalence of depression and anxiety increased by 25% during the first year of the pandemic. Studies show, in fact, that entrepreneurs and professionals often report higher levels of certain mental health symptoms versus the general population. Among this group, isolation, lack of resources, and the pressure to adopt hustle culture can pile up.
It seems that while nurturing a business, professionals forget to nurture themselves. Neglecting self-care is common among entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business.
Time and time again, studies link physical health to mental health and mental health to productivity and creative thinking. Self care, it seems, has a positive ripple effect. Professionals and entrepreneurs who hope to avoid burnout should strive for a sustainable work-life balance that prioritizes well-being.
Together with participants of the mentoring session, we will together explore various ways of self-care, what kind of path self-growth is and why it is important. We will also discuss mindfulness techniques for business professionals and create an individual self-care plan for take-away.
It seems that there are lot of substantial changes going on on the individual and societal level, and it is like the vibrational fabric is changing and affecting the ways we think, feel, and act. As a project developer and consultant for personal and professional development – my task is to sense it and convey the subtle messages to others through my projects and activities. That is why personal development and well-being will be a focal points of those.
What do YOU DO to be SEEN & HEARD?
To be seen and heard – I TALK to people. And not just talk, I do something even more important – I LISTEN. Even though technology is a valuable tool, I do it more offline than online, as I believe that I’m more real in person. This all happens under the realm of transnational European projects that I partake in with various roles.
What kind of CHANGE you would like to SEE & MAKE?
I want to see that professionals and leaders are tackling their personal issues, healing themselves by taking a deep look inside. I want to see more transformational change on individual level, as I believe that is the only way to have more just society. Women should be at the front of this new wave.
What kind of CHALLENGES are the most imporant in 2023?
There are many challenges, but I believe that all of them can be overcome by boosting personal resilience. Mental and emotional strength are necessary if we want to survive and thrive in the upcoming years.
What are the topics that are not publicly spoken, but it definitely should be?
That it is the time for women to take the steering wheels at all levels: politics, economy, communities… I believe that women are to the highest extent fed up of false narratives, delusion and unequal power distribution, as female power would break the structures of the old age: the age before 2030.
What would your younger YOU should know?
My younger ME should know that care of the SELF comes first and it, most of all, means that I should not submit to fears induced by society… Afraid to express myself and my full potential. My younger self should have spoken up more. But it is never too late, and the right time is when the time comes.
