Imagining and pursuing a world where women are equally represented in driving the global peace and development agenda. What difference would it make? Why are there so few women leaders in the area of international affairs and international development? What holds women back? How can we overcome those barriers? Join the discussion and the movement!
I am leading a highly committed UNICEF team to support Czech Government and partners in addressing the needs of refugee children and families fleeing the war in Ukraine. One of the new exciting initiatives is to engage private sector in providing pathways to employment and skills building for young Ukrainian women and men.
What does the word „opportunity“ mean to you?
Opportunity is a possibility that one can pursue to achieve something of value – education, employment, political representation, etc. The maturity of society is measured by how equal the opportunities are for all its members – women and men, young and old, people of all ethnic and religious backgrounds. How equal are the opportunities in our society?
What would you like to wish Equal Pay Day for its 15th birthday?
I wish this wonderful initiative to succeed to the point where it would no longer be required. Thank you for the contributing to building a world of equal opportunities, where woman and men are equally empowered to develop and realize their full potential and where their efforts are equally recognized.
